SEO Techniques Not To Use
- Hidden content
- Cloaking
- Over Repeated Keywords
- Software for link building
- SEO Unfriendly Social Networking
- SEO Unfriendly Social Bookmarking
- SEO Unfriendly Web Directories
- SEO Unfriendly Article Directories
- SEO Unfriendly Forums
- SEO Unfriendly Blogs
- Software trickery on your site to show something to the search engines that is not there
- Unreadable code to build your site
- Anything labelled a "black hat trick"
- Link triangles, link wheels or any other form of tricking the search engines about the quality of your links. (These may work initially but have worse consequences later when the search engine realises what you have done)
- This list goes on and on with bad techniques, the key is to just use the recommended techniques.
Although a lot of these techniques are no longer used as the search engines are no longer fooled by them I would hate to think someone was led to believe they do. Not only do these techniques not work (or if they do it is only short term) they can get your site blacklisted in the search engines so you will never rank in them again.
